Photo of girl on cellphoneThe program of study in Kinesiology is in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health.  Kinesiology is an interdisciplinary program dedicated to the study of human movement.  Required courses include Biomechanics of Human Movement, Human Physiology, and Motor Development, Growth and Form.  Students can pursue a variety of careers including Physician Assistant, Athletic Trainer, and Physical Therapist.  Due to the science-based curriculum, it is an excellent option for students pursuing careers in medicine.  Three concentration areas are offered: Kinesiology, Athletic Training, and P. E. Teacher Certification

Community Health

The program of study in Community Health is in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health.  The Community Health program addresses a variety of health-related issues including management, policy, education, rehabilitation and disability.  Required courses include Contemporary Health, Introduction to Epidemiology and Public Health Practice.  All students will also complete a part-time field-based internship experience.  Students pursue a range of careers including Occupational Therapist, Nursing and Health Care Consulting.  Students can complete a concentration in one of three areas: Health Education, Health Planning and Administration, or Rehabilitation and Disability Studies.
